III. Converting Sample to Graphite

    The carbon dioxide collected from the last step is then transferred to a line for graphite production. The graphite is produced by conversion of CO₂ to carbon monoxide over hot zinc, and this gas is then converted to graphite over hot iron, at about 600°C.
