(First Announced September 7, 2004)
December 19-21, 2004
Student Union Memorial Center
University of Arizona
Tucson, Arizona, USA
Dear Colleagues,
This is the first announcement of a North American ATLAS Physics Workshop,
to be held at the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona, on December 20
and 21, 2004. At this time all U.S. and Canadian ATLAS collaborators are
invited to attend. The meeting will be organized as a two-day workshop, with a
possible software tutorial on Sunday, December 19 or Wednesday, December 22,
in the morning, attached to it.
The goal of this meeting is to lay down the roadmap for contributions from North America to the ATLAS Physics Workshop in Rome, Italy, in Spring 2005. People already actively working on any subject in ATLAS physics analysis for pp and heavy ion collisions in LHC are invited to present the status of their work and their goals for the ATLAS wide workshop. In addition it is an excellent opportunity for everybody just starting in ATLAS (or planning to do so in the near future) to explore opportunities for physics research and to get in touch with subsystem and software experts, in particular the members of the newly created Analysis Support Group (ASG).
Details of the agenda, accommodation and travel will be communicated shortly in a first bulletin.
