Angels & Demons: The Science of Antimatter and the Large Hadron Collider

You may have seen advertisements for the upcoming movie "Angels & Demons," a story from the author of "The DaVinci Code." In this one, some bad guys steal antimatter from CERN (a laboratory on the Swiss/French border), and use it to make a bomb with which they intend to destroy the Vatican.

If you've ever wondered what antimatter is, and if one can really make a bomb from it, or what really goes on at places like CERN, please come to the public lecture, Angels & Demons: The Science of Antimatter and the Large Hadron Collider, by Physics Professor Erich Varnes on May 13th, where all will be revealed. The talk will begin at 8p.m. and will be held in room 150 of the Harvill Building on the University of Arizona campus.

A map of the location of the Harvill Building can be located here.
