University of Arizona Faculty position in theoretical high energy or nuclear physics The Physics Department at the University of Arizona invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position to start in August 2014 in the area of lattice gauge theory. The initial appointment will be a cooperative fellowship with the RIKEN BNL Research Center (RBRC) at Brookhaven National Laboratory for a period of up to five years. During this period the successful candidate will spend about half of his or her time at the University of Arizona and the other half at the RBRC in Brookhaven National Lab, Upton, NY. At the end of this initial period the candidate will be considered for promotion with tenure to full time associate professor at the University of Arizona. A Ph.D. or equivalent degree in nuclear or high energy physics is required, with postdoctoral experience highly desirable. The person hired is expected to develop a research program in the area of lattice gauge theory, to participate in the Physics Department's teaching and professional activities while at Arizona, and to supervise undergraduate and graduate students.
