Death Valley

During spring break 2009, the ramblers went to Death Valley National Park

This is the interesting formation right next to our campsite. Two ramblers are at/near the top.

This is some interesting rock in Titus Canyon.

Here are some desert pupfish in Salt Creek.

This is the track of a beetle at Mesquite Dunes

Another photo at Mesquite Dunes.

And a third photo at Mesquite Dunes.

Although hard to visualize in 3D, this is a view into Ubehebe Crater.

This is Little Hebe crater which is next to Ubehebe.

This is part of Darwin Falls. It has several dropoffs and this was the highest one we got to. I doubt too many people go any higher since it would require some pretty serious scrambling. This was a fantastic spot.

This plant was at the edge of the pool just below the previous photo.

These are salt crystals in Badwater Flats which is the lowest point in North America.

Here are some pentagonal ridges of salt at Badwater Salt Flats.

This was taken from within Golden Canyon. Part of Golden Canyon is in the foreground, Badwater Salt Flats is in the middle and the Panamint range with Telescope peak is in the background.

Here is a tiny stalactite in a "cave" just a couple miles north of the Furnace Creek Visitor Center.

Here is an image of the cracked ground near our campsite. It was taken near the hill shown in the first photo on this page.

This is a view of Badwater Basin from Dante's View.

This is a view of Saratoga Springs near the southern boundary of the Park. Amidst this natural spring are more pupfish.

These are the Ibex Dunes which are close to Saratoga Springs.

Ramblers tend to be adventurous!
