"Scenic" Illinois

Chicago Skyline
Chicago is definitely is not my kind of place but the skyline can be beautiful at night.

Spring Has Arrived
Scenic views are few and far between in Illinois but this is a nice photo of a single tree in springtime. It was taken at Rock Cut State Park.

Ferns
I have this habit of taking "monochromatic" color photos. This was taken (coincidently) at Ferne Clyffe State Park in Shawnee National Forest.

Plant Colony
Here is another "monochromatic" and slightly blurry (damn that wind) photo. This was taken at Mississippi Palisades State Park.

Mayflowers
Yet another more or less "monochromatic" photo. This was taken at Moraine Hills State Park.

Covered Trail
This was taken at Castle Rock State Park. I tend to like these narrow curving trails.

Iceclimbing
This was taken at Starved Rock State Park. The frozen waterfalls at this park are popular climbing spots.

Differential Erosion
I am sure most of you are saying what the hell is this. Anyways this is for the geology-types like myself. This is a great example of differential erosion from Giant City State Park in Shawnee National Forest.

Name the Animal
This is a - well I can't remember. Anyways it was at a small zoo near my apartment in Chicago.
