Brad is working on the stochastic parametrization of dissipative mechanisms in oceanic settings. This is an extension of a multi-scale model developed by Restrepo and McWilliams for the interaction of waves and currents to handle wave breaking and the effects of wind on the generation and destruction of waves. He is also interested in using the model to study nearshore flows, such as rip and longshore currents.
