A research lab wouldn't be a lab without the equipment. Here's a brief tour of some of the equipment we use an a day to day basis.

Our workhorse Digital Instruments Dimension 3100 AFM. It's large sample scanner has no trouble achieving lattice resolution of mica

Digital Instruments Multimode AFM and video microscope

Our deionized water system which produces 18Mohm-cm water for experiments

Video capture system for analyzing data, creating video presentations, etc.

Olympus inverted video microscope with micromanipulation setup. Used for attaching things to AFM tips, studying microfluidics and microcontact printing mechanisms.

Tube furnace for high temperature sample preparation.

Glove box for controlled environment sample preparation.

A very important piece of lab equipment - a cappaccino machine. Enables longer hours and clearer thoughts.

Vacuum furnace for sample preparation, microcontact stamp drying, desiccator rejuvenation, etc. It may look old, (and it is), but it's been refurbished and works like new!
