Unfortunately time had run out for my program and I will not be able to finish the Renshape board. Another student will take over the project where I left off.
Like the FR-4 board, the renshape board will have Styrofoam beads below the board the limit the heat transfer to above the board. Also there is a 1x1 inch square cut out of the middle with balsa wood to hold the heater. Below the balsa wood platform will also be filled with the beads to further improve insulation.
The Top of the board will be layered with many of the same components as the FR-4/copper board and painted black to diffuse radiant heat exchange.
