Northern Arizona - Part 2

This image and the next five are again pictographs from the same undisclosed location in Northern Arizona/Southern Utah. This "dancer" was very colorful and there are images of deer/sheep/whatever on his dark colored "breastplates".

If I recall correctly this deer was pretty close to the previous image.

Ever seen any upside-down people in pictographs before?

This extraordinary image is unlike anything I have every seen. The red/yellow pigments showed up better when I was there than they do in this photo.

Anyone know what these markings represent?

And lastly, this fantastic collection of people and other things.

I took an half-day Colorado River trip with Colorado River Discovery. The trip started at the Glen Canyon Dam pictured above and ended at historic Lee's Ferry. This section of the Colorado River is known as Marble Canyon.

This image and the next three are petroglyphs from a stop we made during the float trip. There were petroglyphs here from two different cultures. It was clear that some had been eroded for far longer than some of the others.

These were apparently just uncovered the previous year after a flood removed some of the sandbar.

Any idea what this is?

And this one is clearly from the earlier culture.

This is Montezuma Well which is part of Montezuma Castle National Monument. This is in central Arizona. Approximately one million gallons of water flows from a spring into the well every day. The water is fairly basic (as in pH > 7) due to all the dissolved calcium carbonate. You can sense the pH just by touching the water.

This is the remnant of a cliff dwelling built by the Sinagua culture. It lies on the rim of Montezuma Well.

This image and the remaining two are petroglyphs from a location close to Tucson (so admittedly we are now in southern Arizona). I would prefer to keep the exact location a secret. Any thoughts what this design is?

And similarly this design?

And one more?
